Acculturation of International Students in Moroccan Universities: Power Dynamics and Complexities

Cross-cultural adaptation of international students is a breathtaking research that has received a wider attention in the academia due to the increasing of student mobility and the availability of educational exchange programs. Therefore, this book is an attempt to explore the Sub-Saharan students’ experiences and perceptions vis-à-vis their adaptation to the mainstream Moroccan cultural milieu. In so doing, it seeks to delve into factors that have facilitated or impeded their adaptive processes and elicits the participants’ adaptive strategies germane to shifting from being cultural outsiders to active and effective cultural insiders. For this purpose, this study employed a mixed method research design, combining both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection and analysis.
